What?

The Helmeted Hornbill(HH) is one of the 8 species of Hornbills in Borneo. It is a critically endangered bird, unfortunately killed in thousands for its casque.We are applying our 4Es on this project. We are doing a survey on the HH population. We are identifying the favorite food of this bird and then growing them as well as replanting them in the wildlife corridor (https://www.1stopborneo.org/corridors)

a) Grow successfully 10,000 HH favorite food and replant them

b) Educate local schools about this bird and invite them to plant a tree on the HH behalf

c) Locate HH nest and guard them.

d) Step up enforcement in HH hotspot

Cooperation with The Sabah Parks & GAIA

In 2022 we conducted a Helmeted Hornbill and Hornbill nest survey in Tawau Hills with The Sabah Parks & GAIA led by Dr.Ravinder.We organised the Hornbill Run, Hornbill Photo exhibition and a carnival.
